Patchouli...
Botanical Name: Pogostemon cablin
Plant part: Leaves
Origin: Indonesia
Scent: Warm, earthy aroma with fresh fruit-like tones.

Patchouli has a sacred scent and quality. It is comforting yet stimulating, a grounding aid for creativity and sensuality. It is balancing, grounding and helps with manifestation of earthy matters, such as finalizing deals, making a decision and mastering your own wall.

During the 18tha nd 19th century, silk traders from China traveling to the Middle East packed their silk cloth with dried patchouli leaves to prevent moths from laying their eggs on the cloth. Indian shawls and Indian ink were identified by the unique patchouli odor. In several Asian countries, such as Japan and Malaysia, Patchouli is also used as an antidote for venomous snakebites.
